As part of its Covid-19 action plan, the Maharashtra government has permitted only essential workers to travel on local trains.

Maharashtra police was seen vigilant and took took stock of the implementation of restrictions imposed by the government.
Mumbai Police Commissioner Hemant Nagrale requested people to help the police and the administration by not stepping out of their houses, except in case of essential and emergency work.
Essential services including hospitals, diagnostic centres, clinics, vaccinations, medical insurance offices, pharmacies, pharmaceutical companies, other medical and health services are allowed to open.
Cinema halls, drama theatres and auditoriums, amusement parks, video game parlours, water parks, clubs, swimming pools, gyms and sports complexes are to remain closed.
