Malviya Nagar Election Results 2025 Live: Satish Upadhyay of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has secured a win with 39,564 votes, beating Somnath Bharti of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), three-time MLA from Malviya Nagar, by 2,131 votes and Jitender Kumar Kochar of the Indian National Congress (INC) who got 6,770 votes.
The Malviya Nagar Assembly constituency of Delhi went to polls on February 05, 2025. The candidates in fray from the Malviya Nagar constituency are – Somnath Bharti of the AAP, Satish Upadhyay of the BJP and Jitender Kumar Kochar of the INC. In the last Assembly elections, the AAP’s Somnath Bharti won by a margin of 18144 votes. The BJP’s Shailender Singh was the runner up securing 33899 votes. In the 2020 Assembly elections, Delhi had recorded 61.46 per cent voter turnout for the 70 Assembly constituencies.
The Congress party has won Delhi for three consecutive terms from 1998 to 2013. The BJP has won only once. In 2013, the Arvind Kejriwal-led AAP ended Congress rule, with a short-lived minority government. The party has now completed its second consecutive term (2015 to 2025).
