The Karnataka Assembly elections are scheduled to be held on May 10 and counting of votes will take place on May 13. The term of the current 224-seat Karnataka Assembly gets over on May 24.
As the candidates start filing their nominations, we take a look at their assets. Senior Janata Dal (Secular) leader and former Karnataka chief minister H D Kumaraswamy, who is spearheading the party’s campaign for the polls, declared assets worth over Rs 46 crore.
Meanwhile, BJP leader V Somanna, who has been given two tickets for the Chamarajanagar and Varuna seats by the party to prove his political mettle, declared nearly Rs 14 crore in total assets.

With the release of the third list on Monday, the BJP has announced candidates for 222 of the 224 assembly seats in Karnataka. Candidates for two seats – Manvi and Shivamogga City — are yet to be announced. Meanwhile, the Congress has so far announced 209 candidates in three lists and has to name 15 more. The Janata Dal (Secular) on Friday had released a second list of 49 candidates for the May 10 Karnataka Assembly polls, including for the Hassan seat, over which there was a dispute within the Deve Gowda family.
