Dubai shuts down part of metro’s green line over large fire

Dubai's Road Transport Authority said the fire on Monday night struck the Deira neighborhood along the Dubai Creek. It said it was providing buses between the affected metro stations.

Authorities in Dubai have shut down part of the metro’s green line after a major fire broke out in a neighborhood in the city in the United Arab Emirates.

Dubai’s Road Transport Authority said the fire on Monday night struck the Deira neighborhood along the Dubai Creek. It said it was providing buses between the affected metro stations.

It wasn’t immediately clear if there were any injuries in the blaze. Civil defense officials could not be immediately reached for comment.

Fires have affected several skyscrapers in the Emirates, including a February blaze that broke out at Dubai’s 86-story Torch tower, one of the world’s tallest residential towers. There were no major casualties in that fire.
