Two-year-old Prince George skips nap time, meets Obamas in his pyjamas

The palace released a series of photos showing everyone chatting in the drawing room of William and Kate's home, and of Obama kneeling in front of George, who appeared ready for bedtime.

President Barack Obama plunged into a whirlwind of royal socializing on Friday that began over a birthday lunch with Queen Elizabeth II and ended at a dinner hosted by the trio of young royals who represent the future of the British monarchy at Kensington Palace.

Obama ended his day with a trip to Kensington Palace, where he and the first lady were invited for dinner with Prince William, his wife, Kate, and his brother, Prince Harry. But the highlight of the evening was when the Obamas was greeted by two-year-old Prince George.

The pictures released by the palace show the royal toddler in his pyjamas and white dressing gown.

In another photo, the prince is seen on a rocking horse that was gifted to him by the Obamas during his birth. The rocking horse has the Presidential seal on the saddle and the young rider seemed pretty fond of it.

In some photos, a stuffed toy replica of Obama’s dog Bo, an earlier gift to the toddler from the president, rested on an ottoman.

UK Mirror quoted a Kensington Palace spokesman saying: “Prince George stayed up to meet the president and first lady when they arrived at Kensington Palace.

“He was able to show the president and first lady a rocking horse – given to George when he was born – and a stuffed toy – given to George when Princess Charlotte was born – that had been previously given to him by president and Mrs Obama.”
