Days after an Indian-origin man, Chandra Nagamallaiah, was killed, the United States President Donald Trump, condemning the brutal attack on Monday, said, “The time for being soft on these illegal immigrant criminals is over,” while referring to the suspected killer, Yordanis Cobos-Martinez, who is a Cuban national.
In a post on his Truth Social handle, Trump vowed to “MAKE AMERICA SAFE AGAIN” under his watch. “I am aware of the terrible reports regarding the murder of Chandra Nagamallaiah, a well-respected person in Dallas, Texas, who was brutally beheaded, in front of his wife and son, by an ILLEGAL ALIEN from Cuba who should have never been in our Country,” he said.
Nagamallaiah, who is from Karnataka, was brutally killed at his workplace in front of his wife and teenage son in East Dallas, Texas, by a co-worker after a dispute over a broken washing machine.
Trump informed that the accused Cobos-Martinez has been earlier arrested by the authorities for “terrible crimes”, including child sex abuse, grand theft auto, and false imprisonment. The Republican leader accused former President Joe Biden led administration over the release of accused Cobos-Martinez.
“The individual was released back into our Homeland under incompetent Joe Biden because Cuba did not want such an evil person in their country,” Trump wrote in the post.
Trump, while informing about the charges being levelled against the accused Cobos-Martinez, said, “This criminal, who we have in custody, will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the Law. He will be charged with murder in the first degree!”
US President said that the Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem, Attorney General Pam Bondi, Border Czar Tom Homan and others are “doing an incredible job” to ensure a safer America.
The killing occurred on the morning of September 10 at the Downtown Suites motel on Samuell Boulevard, where Chandra Nagamallaiah had been managing operations for the past two to three years.
Expressing condolences over Nagamallaiah’s killing, the Indian Consulate in Houston in a post on X said, “We are in touch with the family and offering all possible assistance. The accused is in the custody of the Dallas Police. We are following up on the matter closely.”
