Nepal Police Friday arrested former Deputy Prime Minister and Rashtriya Swatantra Party Chief Rabi Lamichhane from his party office. Lamichhane’s arrest comes over a month after a parliamentary panel found that Galaxy Media, of which Lamichhane is the Vice Chairman, borrowed
Rs 850 million from Pokhara-based Surya Darshan cooperative and spent it illegally.
Lamichhane, head of the fourth largest party in Nepal’s Parliament, said just before his arrest that the arrest “ marks the count down of the Oli regime.”
Some of his party leaders followed the police while party workers are likely to head to Pokhara to protest.
