Coca-Cola has issued recall orders for over 10,000 of its cans due to risk of foreign object contamination in parts of the United States as Reyes Coca-Cola Bottling voluntarily issued the recall orders, as per a report shared by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

According to The Independent, about 864 cases of Coca-Cola have been recalled due to the contamination risk and each case contained 12 coke cans. It implies that over 10,000 Coca-Cola cans have been affected by the recall.

The US FDA said that each affected cans has a UPC of 0 49000-00634 6, while the targeted packs of 12 cans have a UPC of 0 49000-02890 4.

The coke cans which were recalled by Reyes Coca-Cola Bottling were distributed in the Illinois and Wisconsin states of the United States.

US FDA classified the action taken as “Class 2” and detailed that it is a “situation in which use of or exposure to a violative product may cause temporary or medically reversible adverse health consequences, or where the probability of serious adverse health consequences is remote.”

However, no other Coca-Cola products have been named in the recall either by the manufacturer or by the Food and Drug Administration.
