A video of young cricketers performing a bhangra dance before getting a batter out has taken social media by storm. The viral video shows the batter, Sameer Singh Chauhan, attempting a run, but the non-striker, Vaibhav Sharma, stayed rooted to his spot, leaving both players stranded at the same end. Neither attempted to run to the other end.
Seeing Sameer and Vaibhav at the same wicket, the wicket keeper and some other fielders broke into a bhangra, even before the keeper broke the stumps to complete the run-out.
Sharing the video, an X handle @mufaddal_vohra wrote, “Bowling team does ‘Bhangra’ before running out the batter.”

The viral quickly gained traction, racking up nearly a million views and numerous reactions. “What a crazy out by young talents for cricket,” a user wrote. “Can understand small kiddos, let them enjoy if they did this real match the batsmen could have come back at wicket keeper end,” another user commented.
However, not everyone was pleased with the team’s celebration after the dismissal. “A Bangladeshi cricketer Tahid Rana once said, ‘What’s the point of celebrating a wicket? It feels terrible for the batsman when he gets out. For that reason I am not celebrating wicket’,” a third user said. “Celebrating a wicket is the right of the fielding team, but this kind of celebration is beyond the spirit of the game,” a fourth user wrote.
Such over-the-top celebrations aren’t limited to junior-level cricket. From KL Rahul’s viral Kantara-inspired celebration to Virat Kohli imitating iconic dance moves of Bollywood legend Anil Kapoor, even star players indulge in similar celebrations.
Last week, a hilarious video featuring Hardik Pandya almost hitting Mumbai Indians’ owner Akash Ambani with a robot dog at the Indian Premier League (IPL) left the Internet in stitches. The viral video showed Pandya accidentally pressing a button that caused the robot to jump toward Ambani.
