In a rather bizarre sight, an ostrich was spotted walking aimlessly in the middle of a road in Aluva, near Kochi, clearly lost and out of place. The bird, typically native to the African savannah, appeared confused as it tried to navigate the urban chaos.
In the video, a concerned man is seen stepping in to help the bird find its way, while curious onlookers and vehicles slowly follow behind, trying to make sense of the rare scene.
The video was shared by an Instagram user with the caption, “Where did this come from.” The video has gained 7.9 million views on the social media platform, with 361 thousand likes.
An amused netizen commented, “In the olden days, ducks and chickens were the ones running through the road… See now, it has reached even the ostrich… Who said there is no development in Kerala…”
Another user wrote, “I love the cheta who was controlling ostrich traffic … He actually gave directions and the bird bloody listened!”
A third user expressed concern for the ostrich and commented, “Man that poor thing is emaciated, the background music just makes this all the more inhuman and sadistic.”
This isn’t the first time ostriches have taken the internet by storm. While enjoying the day with his family, an overly friendly ostrich wandered up to him and gave him a playful peck, leaving everyone giggling.
