Aakash Neeraj Mittal is an alumni of Indian Institute of Technology- Kharagpur, a KGPian as the students of the institute are popularly called. The graduate, who is also the author of ‘It wasn’t her fault’, was reportedly very keen on getting a job at Flipkart, the e-commerce giant worth billions of dollars. But instead of dropping a resume like other normal candidates, what he did was quite unbelievable and extremely hilarious.
He put himself on sale on the website!
In the ad, he pointed to the designation he was hoping to get – Product Manager. Very ambitious, Aakash.
“Sold by” IIT-Kharagpur (‘Best since 1951’ as he put it), Mittal priced himself at Rs 27,60,200 ONLY. What the secret behind the ‘price’ is, we won’t know!
With his detailed resume on Flipkart, Mittal wrote, “When you are a 6-pointer and competing with best of the best minds of the country, you know how hard it is to land a job. You start doing some crazy and random stuff to stand out from the crowd. This is my resume for Flipkart’s APM Profile. I didn’t get an interview call though, but I hope it will bring a smile on someone’s face.”
Thanks to technology, we won’t be surprised if it’s photoshopped to look like a Flipkart page.
Also, this is not a new idea to bag a job, many in the USA upload their profiles on Amazon to get lucky.
