As millions of faithful jostled to take part in the ongoing Mahakumbh Mela, the world’s largest religious and spiritual gathering, a video of several devotees struggling to find their footwear outside a temple has emerged on the Internet.

The video, which garnered over two million views, left social media users in stitches.“Check the size, wear it, and leave,” a user joked. “I can feel the pain,” another user commented. “Wear someone elses’ and leave, even I lost my slippers here,” a third user reacted.

On Monday, Nasa astronaut Don Pettit shared stunning photos of the Mahakumbh Mela, viewed from space. The video showed striking lights decking up Prayagraj. The 69-year-old astronaut is currently at the International Space Station as part of the Expedition 72 crew.

This year, Mahakumbh holds special significance due to its rare celestial alignment, which is said to occur once in 144 years.
