Following a star-studded kickoff, the extravagant pre-wedding celebrations of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant in Jamnagar continues for the second day on Saturday in a similar glamourous fashion, with a mix of “jungle fever” and “desi romance style.”
As per the official schedule, Day 2 began with a tour of Reliance Foundation’s animal rescue and rehabilitation centre ‘Vantara’, for which celebrity guests were asked to wear ‘comfortable shoes’. Late in the evening, a ‘Mela Rogue’ party to be hosted by the couple will witness celebrity guests dress up in a ‘desi romance style’.
On Saturday evening, chairperson of Adani Group and industrialist Gautam Adani and his wife were seen arriving at Jamnagar’s airport to attend the pre-wedding events being hosted by fellow business tycoon and Reliance Industries (RIL) Chairman Mukesh Ambani and wife Nita Ambani for their son.
The visit to Vantara comes the morning after global CEOs, heads of states, Bollywood and sports stars, singers and artists were seen grooving to pop star Rihanna’s special performance.
The timing of the tour also aligns with the recent announcement of the comprehensive Animal Rescue, Care, Conservation and Rehabilitation programme. It is led by the soon-to-be bridegroom and Ambani’s son Anant, who is also the director on the boards of RIL and Reliance Foundation.
Photographs of Mark Zuckerberg and his wife Priscilla Chan in jungle-themed outfits surfaced online early Saturday prior to their visit to Vantara. Sprawled within the green belt of Reliance’s Jamnagar Refinery Complex in Gujarat, the Vantara ecosystem comprises of a 3,000-acre Elephant Centre, which is home to over 200 rescued elephants, as well as ‘Green Zoological Rescue & Rehabilitation Centre’, which is home to over 2,000 animals across 43 species.
Bollywood big names, including Katrina Kaif, Vicky Kaushal and Tiger Shroff who were present on Friday evening, arrived in Jamnagar to join Day 2 of the pre-wedding bash.
Even veteran Hindi actor Jeetendra was spotted by the paparazzi at the venue.
The party on the evening of Day 2 has been titled ‘Mela Rogue’ promising “A Potpourri of Desi Activities.” The dress code is ‘South Asian attires.’
Giving a sneak peek into the event, celebrity fashion designer Manish Malhotra shared a few glimpses from the venue in the coastal city of Jamnagar. In a post on Instagram, he captioned it: “Creative Indian Artistry in #jamnagar at its Finest under the guidance of Mrs Nita Ambani.”
One of the pictures features elephant-shaped door handles, while the walls could be seen adorned with hand-painted peacocks and monkeys. All other rooms at the venue are designed with floral patterns.
Radhika and Anant got engaged in 2022, and an engagement ceremony was held in 2023. The couple’s pre-wedding invite explained why Jamnagar was chosen as the venue. “Over the years, we planted more than 10 million trees in this arid region, transforming it into a bustling green community,” the invitation reads, according to The National News. “Taking the spirit of this initiative further, Anant has lovingly nurtured this complex into a haven of care and compassion for over thousands of rescued animals. Over the past 25 years, we’ve built our fondest memories in Jamnagar. And it is the place closest to our hearts. We look forward to having you as we celebrate the beginning of Radhika and Anant’s wedding festivities.”
