Chinese smartphone giant Xiaomi on Thursday has officially introduced its latest flagship smartphone – Xiaomi 14 in India. This is the second Xiaomi smartphone with Leica optics to launch in the country, and it is also one of the most affordable Android flagships launched in 2024.
The Xiaomi 14 comes with a compact 6.36-inch 1.5K resolution display with a 120Hz refresh rate, protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus. Like most flagship smartphones, the device offers a glass sandwich design with an aluminium flat frame, and the smartphone is also IP68 rated for water and dust resistance.
Powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, the device offers 12 GB of RAM and 512 GB of internal storage with dual nano SIM card slots with support for a 5G network. The phone ships with the latest Android 14 OS-based HyperOS, and is likely to receive four major Android OS upgrades.
The highlight of the Xiaomi 14 is its 50 MP triple camera array, featuring Leica Vario Summilux Optical 1:1.6-2.2/14-75 ASPH lens and the Light Fusion 900 50 MP 1/1.31-sized image sensor with 7P lens setup. The device also has a 50 MP floating telephoto lens, which takes 32 MP images in photo mode and 50 MP images in portrait mode at 75mm equivalent focal length. Lastly, there is an f/2.2 Leica ultra-wide angle lens.
The Xiaomi 14 offers plenty of shooting modes, including Xiaomi ProFocus with support for motion and eye tracking. Similarly, it also offers Leica Authentic Look, Leica Vibrant Look, Leica Vibrant Look, Leica classic shutter sound, and Leica Watermark. This is also one of the first Android smartphones that can natively shoot 4K videos in Dolby Vision format, and all three cameras can capture high-resolution 50 MP photos.
A 4,610 mAh battery fuels the device with support for 90W fast wired and 50W wireless charging. In the Boost Mode, the smartphone can fully charge in 31 minutes, and the fast charging adapter is included in the box.
