Samsung launches AI-powered Neo QLED 8K smart TVs in India

The latest smart TVs from Samsung leverages on-device AI to deliver a premium content consumption experience.

Samsung has unveiled its latest lineup of flagship OLED 4K and Neo QLED 8K smart TVs powered by the NQ8 AI Gen3 processor with on-device AI capabilities for image upscaling and audio enhancing. The brand-new TVs were introduced at the Unbox and Discover 2024 launch event in Bengaluru.

These are the first set of smart TVs (Neo QLED 8K) from the company with on-device generative AI capabilities. According to Samsung, these televisions, powered by TizenOS, are packed with capabilities like cloud gaming, an education hub, and smart yoga, which can be experienced by pairing the smart TV with an AI-powered mat.

The Neo QLED 8K is available in two variants — QN900D and QN800D and is available in 65, 75, and 85-inch sizes, with the most affordable 65-inch variant priced at Rs 3,199,90.

Users who pre-order Neo QLED 8K, Neo QLED 4K, or the glare-free OLED will get a complimentary soundbar worth up to Rs 79,990, or Freestyle worth Rs 59,990, or the Music Frame worth Rs 29,990, depending on the model. Pre-order offers are applicable until April 30, 2024.

At the launch, JB Park, President, and CEO of Samsung Southwest Asia, said, “We have integrated AI into home entertainment to offer exceptional viewing experiences for our consumers. Our 2024 range of Neo QLED 8K, Neo QLED 4K, and OLED TVs redefine the home entertainment experience and offer new innovations across accessibility, sustainability, and enhanced security with the power of AI.”

Samsung is leveraging on-device AI capabilities on the Neo QLED 48, powered by the NQ8 AI Gen3 with a neural processing unit with 512 neural networks, which enables technologies like AI Picture Technology, AI Upscaling Pro, AI Motion Enhancer Pro, AI Sound Technology, AI Auto Game Mode, AI Customization Mode, and AI Energy Mode.

Similarly, the Neo QLED 4K and the OLED TVs are powered by the previous generation NQ4 AI Gen2 Processor, and Samsung’s OLED TV is the world’s first glare-free OLED. The Neo QLED 4K is also available in two models QN85D and QN90D and comes in five sizes — 55, 65, 75, 85, and 98 inches, with a price starting at Rs 1,39,990. Similarly, the OLED TV is also available in two models — S95D and S90D and comes in 55, 65, 77, and 83 inches with a starting price of Rs 1,64,990.
