OnePlus has officially unveiled OxygenOS 16, its latest Android skin based on Android 16, featuring a major visual refresh, enhanced personalisation, and a host of AI-driven tools. The update will begin rolling out in batches this November, starting with the OnePlus 15 and later expanding to more devices.
The new interface follows two themes – ‘Breathe With You’ for visual upgrades and ‘Thrive with Free Expression’ for deeper customisation. OxygenOS 16 adopts an iOS 26-inspired Gaussian blur, giving the UI a “Liquid glass” appearance across the home screen, app drawer, and system apps.
Users can now customise the Quick Settings panel, rearrange or expand tiles, and enjoy a cleaner layout with a larger clock. The home screen gains a new 5×7 layout, resizable widgets, expandable folders, and a ‘Categories’ tab that automatically groups apps. System-wide icon theming now applies across the interface, including the recents menu and Settings.
Building on Flux Themes from OxygenOS 15, the new Flux Themes 2.0 lets users tweak the clock position, add text, and set live photos or videos as wallpapers. Mini widgets and Live Alerts now also appear around the selfie camera, showing real-time updates from supported apps like Google Maps.
OxygenOS 16 introduces a dedicated OnePlus AI section, which brings together features like the AI Writer Toolkit that helps generate summaries, captions, mind maps, and charts. The built-in Recorder app now supports real-time transcription and summaries, while the Camera app adds document scanning and quick PDF conversion. The update also debuts Private Computing Cloud, which processes data securely without sending it to third-party servers.
OnePlus’ Mind Space feature now integrates Google Gemini, allowing users to search and interact with stored notes and screenshots using natural language. Meanwhile, Parallel Processing 2.0 brings smoother animations and transitions across the UI.
