On August 29, Instagram said that it is launching an educational resource platform for aspiring influencers and content creators called the Creator Lab. “Creator Lab will contain content from creators, who share their experiences and insights, including what they wish they had known when they started and what they have learned through trial and error,” the company said in a press release.
The Creator Lab will help aspiring content creators learn how to use Instagram’s new tools and features in order to build a loyal following and monetise their content. While the learning material is currently available only in English and Hindi, Instagram said it is working on adding more regional language content to the Lab.
Instagram has also announced several new features over the past few weeks that are aimed at making users’ Posts, Reels, and Stories more engaging. Users can now include more than 20 photos or other types of content in a carousel post on the platform, with the additional option of adding music to mixed-media carousel posts.
The social media giant said that it decided to roll out these options because it observed that Gen Z users were “posting photo dumps that are less ‘me-centered’.” Instagram has also expanded the Add Yours feature to Music, Frames and Reveal stickers – all of which require a particular action to be taken by the user in order to view the content.
The platform has further made it possible for users to add music to their Instagram profiles and Content Notes. Over 20 music tracks can now be added to a single reel, Instagram added.
