Google has been consistently improving its Search functionality and Lens app, with the latest update introducing a bunch of new features that help students solve math equations and visualise physics, chemistry and biology models in 3D.
Google Search and Lens can now help students with mathematical equations by showing them step-by-step explanations and solutions to problems if they take a picture of it or type in the search bar. The tech giant is also working on a new feature called ‘math solver’. It is currently available on desktop and will soon be coming to the mobile version of the app.
The Lens app can now help students with word problems ranging from primary to high school physics, giving them an idea of when and how to use formulas. Google also added the ability to get help with geometry problems like finding the area of a triangle with the Lens app now able to detect both the diagram and the corresponding text.
However, the problem-solving features don’t seem to be limited to mathematics. Google Search now shows new 3D interactive models of more than 1,000 biology, chemistry, physics, astronomy and related topics. For example, if you want to see the inner layers of mitochondria, the app lets you explore the various parts that make up the powerhouse of the human cell.
Apart from helping students with their homework, Lens can also help with rashes or odd moles on skin, help you find clothes on the internet, search for food near you, scan barcodes and even translate menus and signboards.
