The IPL, which sees teams representing various states and cities competing against each other in a 20-20 cricket format, has whipped up increasing intensity on social media and drawing rooms.

To simplify the IPL experience, Facebook has one place which offers real-time updates from your friends (Friends and Groups), real-time reactions (Live Feed) and all the updates from your favourite teams and cricketers (In the Story). Facebook claims that this in fact is the ‘first Trending experience for a uniquely Indian event.’

Facebook Fan Maps is also a cool idea, which the League is trying out, in which allegiances of people posting on Facebook from different states is analyzed. Individual teams are also trying out fun and creative ways of interacting with their fans through Facebook. For example, the Delhi Daredevils have a #AskADilliBoy series where DD players answers questions of their fans through videos on FB.
