Moto X 2015 has been launched in New York by Motorola, which had earlier launched the Moto G (3rd gen) in India. The Moto X 2015 comes in two versions: Moto X Style or what is named as the Moto X Pure Edition in the US and the Moto X Play which has a smaller screen and lower processor.
Moto X Style
The Moto X Style is officially the new flagship from Motorola and comes with a bigger 5.7-inch TFT LCD screen which had Quad HD resolution (1440×2560) at 520 ppi with Corning Gorilla Glass 3.
The dimensions of the new Moto X are 153.9 (height) * 76.2 mm (width) and it has a 6.1 to 11.06 mm curve. Motorola also says that the Moto X has a 76 percent screen-to-body ratio, which means mean that 3/4 of the phone’s front is the display. The new Moto X weighs 179g.

The Moto X Style runs Qualcomm Snapdragon 808hexa-core CPU (MSM8992) clocked at 1.8 Ghz, has Adreno 418 GPU and according to Motorola it also has a Natural Language Processor, and Contextual Computing Processor. It runs pure Android 5.1.1 Lollipop.
The Moto X Style comes with 3 GB DDR RAM and in storage space options of 16GB/32GB/64GB with Micro SD Card support (up to 128GB). The battery is 3000 mAh, and according to Motorola it will last all day with mixed usage. Moto X Style also has Turbo Charging which Motorola says it can give 10 hours of battery life from a 15 minute charge. Moto X Style is also water repellent and this is a 4G LTE smartphone.

The other big update in the Moto X Style is the new camera which is 21 MP on the rear with a f/2.0 aperture. Additionally it can shoot 1080p HD video (30 fps) , 4K video (30fps), Slow Motion video (120 fps) like the iPhone 6 and has a Video HDR mode as well both for 1080p and 4K videos.
The front camera is 5 MP and f /2.0 aperture with a wide-Angle lens and 1.4um pixel (size of image sensor) for better low light photography. This also has night mode and a slow Motion video as well.
According to Motorola, Moto X Style will be available in September at $200-300 less than Apple, Samsung’s top phones and in the US it will be called Moto X Pure Edition. It will cost $399 for an unlocked version which is around Rs 25,000 when converted.
Moto X Play
The Moto X Play is the cheaper and smaller screen version of the Moto X Style. The Moto X Play has a 5.5-inch Full HD screen at 403 ppi with Gorilla Glass 3.
Moto X Play also runs Android 5.1.1, Lollipop and has a Snapdragon 615 Octa-core CPU clocked at 1.7 GHz with Adreno 405 @ 550 MHz GPU. It also has a Natural Language Processor, Contextual Computing Processor like the Moto X Style.
The Moto X Play has 2GB RAM and 16 or 32GB storage space options (upto 128GB microSD card supported). The dimensions of the Moto X Play are 148mm (Height) x75mm (Width) x8.9-10.9mm (curve) and it weighs 169 grams.
While the screen size is less, the battery in the Moto X Play is at 3630 mAh, which Motorola says give up to to 30 hours usage. This version of the Moto X is water repellent as well and this is also a 4G LTE smartphone.
The rear camera is 21 megapixel with a f /2.0 aperture, Colour Correlated Temperature (CCT) flash with dual LEDs, 1080p HD video (30 fps), Slow motion video as well. The front Camera is 5 megapixel.
Moto X Play will starts selling in August across Europe, Latin America and Canada. It’s not clear if India will be getting this version of the phone or not.
