At the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2025 in Barcelona on Sunday, Lenovo unveiled a series of innovative PC and AI-driven technologies that set new benchmarks in personal computing. Among the highlights were the Yoga Solar PC Concept, a groundbreaking solar-powered laptop, the refreshed Lenovo Aura Edition within the Yoga series, and laptops featuring uniquely shaped screens tailored for diverse use cases.
“With the announcement of innovations like the Yoga Pro 9i Aura Edition, the IdeaPad Slim 3x, and the Lenovo Yoga Solar PC Concept, Lenovo has introduced a suite of new devices and proof-of-concept technologies designed to empower users. These advancements ensure that creativity remains unbounded by processing constraints, thanks to AI-powered innovation,” wrote Jun Ouyang, Lenovo’s Senior Vice President and General Manager of the Consumer Segment, Intelligent Devices Group, in a press statement.
The Yoga Solar PC Concept integrates a high-efficiency solar panel with an impressive 24% conversion rate, made possible by ‘Back Contact Cell’ technology. This innovation relocates mounting brackets and gridlines to the back of the cells, maximizing active solar absorption. A mere 20 minutes of direct sunlight can provide up to one hour of video playback, marking a significant leap toward sustainable computing.
Meanwhile, the Yoga Pro 9i Aura Edition is a 16-inch powerhouse built for creators, featuring an Intel Core Ultra processor and an RTX 5070 GPU. Its PureSight Pro tandem OLED display delivers exceptional colour accuracy and visual clarity, enhancing the creative experience. As part of Lenovo’s Aura Edition lineup, this laptop integrates AI-driven features that adapt to user needs, streamlining workflows and boosting productivity.
In addition, the IdeaPad Slim 3x, a 15-inch laptop, aims to make AI-powered computing more accessible. Unlike the concept-stage Yoga Solar PC, both the Yoga Pro 9i Aura Edition and the IdeaPad Slim 3x will be available for purchase soon.
Beyond these launches, Lenovo also showcased the ThinkBook Flip Concept, a laptop featuring a secondary vertical display, and the Magic Bay accessories, which allow users to add up to two external screens to their laptops.
