Anthropic, the company behind the popular Claude AI chatbot has launched an Android app. Available for free on the Google Play Store, the company says that the new app gives access to its newest and most powerful large language model – Claude 3.5 Sonnet.
Similar to the iOS version of the app, which Anthropic launched earlier this year in May, the Android app lets you pick up and continue conversations with Claude across different platforms. The new app also has ‘vision capabilities’, meaning you can take a new picture or use an existing one and ask Claude questions about the image.
Anthropic says that the new Claude app on Android supports ‘multilingual processing’ and ‘Advanced reasoning’ capabilities, allowing users to help with real-time language translation and “tackle complex problems like analyzing contracts while traveling or conducting marketing research to prepare for a meeting.”
You can also upload files and ask the AI chatbot to analyse them. Similar to Gemini and Copilot, Claude can also help you summarise documents, draft emails, write applications and letters and more. The Android version of the app has the same interface as its iOS counterpart and enterprise users can also use the app to access their Claude accounts on the go.
While Claude is free to use, if you want at least 5x more usage, access to Claude Opus 3 and Haiku and perks like early access to new features and priority access when the traffic is pretty high, you will have to upgrade to the Pro plan, which costs Rs 1,999 per month.
