“I’m excited for this role. Our team is mostly the same…we have the same players from the last 3-4 years. We know our players well and that will be an important point,” he added.

On having David Warner as the captain of the team, the all-rounder said, “David is a talented player. I will provide him an atmosphere where he can use his abilities”

“It’s a different feeling altogether when you join DC Camp. It’s been 3-4 years with the franchise now and it feels like home,” said the 29-year-old after his first practice session with teammates.

Delhi Capitals will be playing at their home ground (Feroz Shah Kotla) for the first time after Covid-19 and Axar Patel reckons it’ll be important for the team to have their fans’ support.

“We are playing here at Kotla after so long. I feel it will be really important. We will have our fans here and I’m sure they’d be excited to cheer for us.”

When asked about the first guest on his show called ‘Dhai-Axar Game’, Patel said it’ll be a senior player and he’d want the fans to guess the name.

Delhi Capitals will be facing the KL Rahul-led LSG on Saturday, April 1st in their first match of the tournament.
