With his fiery 63-run knock against the Kolkata Knight Riders at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, Gujarat Titans batter Vijay Shankar marked his presence in the IPL 2023.
Speaking after the game, the batter credited batting coach and mentor Gary Kirsten for improvement in his performance and said that the coach helped him a lot and that they worked on a lot of things ahead of the tournament.
In a recent video shared by Gujarat Titans’ Youtube channel, coach Kirsten can be seen giving tips to Shankar about his wrist movement and bat-holding technique.

In a practice session, Coach Kirsten can be seen telling Shankar to change the angle when hitting a ball and advises him to open the face of the bat from a slightly upper position.
To which, Shankar says that he’s been trying a different approach in the dressing room and that he’d like to play that way and asks the coach for better ways to swing the bat straight away.
Meanwhile, Gujarat Titans will face Shikhar Dhawan-led Punjab Kings at the Punjab Cricket Association in Mohali on Thursday, April 13th.
