IPL 2026 RCB Retained and Released Players List: After 18 years, Royal Challengers Bengaluru won their maiden Indian Premier League title last year under the captaincy of Rajat Patidar. On Saturday, RCB announced the list of released players, which includes key names like Liam Livingstone, Mayank Agarwal, Tim Seifert and Lungi Ngidi.
The likes of Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Josh Hazlewood has strengthened the bowling and were retained alongside Krunal Pandya, who gave a different dimension to their side in the all-rounder department.
While Virat Kohli will continue to be the iconic player for the franchise in the upcoming season, what more will they be able to add to the power of Phil Salt, and who they will release will be an interesting conundrum for the franchise. One thing they did lack last season though, apart from Bhuvneshwar, they lacked a world-class Indian bowler in the side.
Their overseas bowling department, especially in the pace side of things, has a lot of bowling stocks available to them. In the Indian spin department too, they would be hoping to have a few reinforcements supporting the likes of Syuash Sharma, who had a decent season but lacks experience.
When there is a mega auction, there is a limit to the number of players, be it overseas or the Indians, that the squads can retain. But this time around, as it is not a mega auction, teams can retain around as many players as they wish to. Despite the flexible rules, the franchises need to have 25 players, and the purse for each franchise will be around 120 crores.
Virat Kohli, Rajat Patidar, Yash Dayal, Phil Salt, Jitesh Sharma, Josh Hazlewood, Rasikh Salam Dar, Suyash Sharma, Krunal Pandya, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Swapnil Singh, Tim David, Romario Shepherd, Nuwan Thushara, Jacob Bethell, Devdutt Padikkal, Abhinandan Singh.
Liam Livingstone, Tim Seifert, Blessing Muzarabani, Swastik Chikkara, Mayank Agarwal, Manoj Bhandage, Mohit Rathee & Lungi Ngidi.
