LSG vs DC Highlights Score, IPL 2025: Delhi Capitals beat Lucknow Super Giants by 8-wickets

This is a lovely little knock from Axar Patel. His boundaries have eased out the pressure and have brought run ra ate to very manageable rate. While it is not ideal but it is not over for LSG yet. If they can manage to pick a few quick wickets because of the nature of the wicket, the run rate will spike up pretty quickly. As we update,, Shardul Thakur has conceded another boundary. This is unfolding quite quickly for LSG here. The captaincy from Pant too has not been up to the mark today. As we update Axar Patel has smacked another six.

This is a good passage of play for LSG they are tightening the screws here in the middle. Getting runs is getting pretty hard here. A lot will depend on KL Rahul on how he bats. We have seen him in the past pick his bowlers on the wickets like this to get things done, which he might be opting to do today. Also, Axar Patel has walked into the middle, which is a good move. Axar is used to playing on wickets like this, and he can ease some pressure on KL Rahul and the rate. As we update, Axar has smacked a couple of sixes to get the rate under control.

The last couple of overs have gone according to plan for DC. They have just scored some handy runs to up the ante in this chase. As we update, Aiden Makram has created the breakthrough here. Also, one thing and a cause of worry for Capitals is that Lucknow did manage to get 87 runs in the first 10, which did set some platform for the batters to follow and wiggle room for errors with chasing runs, the pressure can pile up quite quickly on these slow surfaces.

Both Porel and Rahul are looking to stitch a partnership in the middle. Which is a good thing. DC would want this partnership to last as long as possible. Also, we are yet to see Ravi Bishnoi bowl on this wicket. Of late, we have seen him develop quite a bit of taste for tossing the deliveries up and beating the batters in the air and picking wickets. This wicket might just be suitable for him once the ball gets a bit softer. And also we have also not seen any dew as now. We have had a close call here It was an incoming delivery from Rathi which Rahul missed It looked close however, on replay, it showed the impact was outside.

This is not a game of powerplay, this one. This is about what happens after the power play once the ball gets softer. That is when this game starts. And also tactically sending in KL Rahul early makes sense in lot of levels as he gets enough time to get adjusted to the pace of the surface before the ball gets old and then can anchor the innings accordingly. While it might seem like at this point in time DC are ahead in this contest, it still feels like a close game. It also depends a lot on how well LSG skipper Rishabh Pant would shepherd his troops.

This is interesting from Lucknow Super Giants, they have now used four bowlers in four overs. While it is a move usually made to ensure bowlers don't line up a bowler, on the flip side, it also won't let the bowlers settle into a rhythm. And as we update first wicket falls. Karun Nair tried to whack one on the leg-side, and he missed the ball It hit his leg and went onto hit his leg-stump. Karun Nair has fallen just short of a breakthrough for Lucknow Super Giants. We are done with the opening over, and that is the worst possible start Lucknow could have anticipated. There have been a few freebies which Karun Nair and Porel caught hold of and squeezed 15 runs. Defending just 160 runs, ideally, if not wicket, they could have started tightly, but it did not happen. Digvesh Rathi comes into attack. This is a good move from Super Giants as both these players would not have faced much of Rathi in misreading him, the opportunity might just open for Super Giants. However, thanks to a couple of misfields, Lucknow did manage to get a couple of boundaries away.

The wicket is on the slower side but still I feel we are short of runs. I think 180 (would have been a par score). With the right plan, hitting good areas and fielding well can help us. That is another masterful final over from Mukesh Kumar. He bowled yorkers to perfection and eventually picked up the wickets of Ayush Badoni and Rishabh Pant, wh,o for some strange reason, kept pushing him down the order. This is not a lot of runs to chase here for the Capitals, they have done an exceptional job with the ball. Lucknow would have seen how Delhi has bowled in this game and would be hoping to replicate similar lines and lengths when they come to bowl. What a terrific bowling performance this has been by DC in the last few overs. They have just gone through overs without giving away too many runs. There was a time in this innings where LSG were scoring at 9s; however, now the rate has fallen into sevens. DC bowlers have just given absolutely nothing to work with for the LSG batters. They have taken the pace off and also made sure they have bowled to their fields. This is a superb performance from them. Their bowling in the last 10 overs collectively might be good enough for them to win this game.

Delhi Capitals have pulled things nicely here. They could not pick a wicket in the first 10 overs, and it is like London buses, one came and three more came pretty quickly. While this is a good platform for LSG, both the batters in the middle, Badoni and David Miller, seem like they are not yet  into the pace of the wicket. The softer ball is harder to get away on this ground. Axar Patel also has used his bowling resources quite well. He has been quite smart with his captaincy is Axar Patel. However, DC has to close out this innings well. If LSG gets a few big overs in momentum might just alter.

That was a superb over from Mukesh Kumar. First, he picked up Abdul Samad, who tried to hit it back, and Mukesh took a lovely caught and bowl opportunity, and then Mukesh executed a picture-perfect yorker to get rid of Mitchell Marsh. LSG, not too long ago, had not lost many wickets but suddenly are four down. Ayush Badoni has walked into the middle, and the surprising thing is that there is still no Rishabh Pant in the middle to bat for Lucknow. David Miller has walked into the middle to keep the left-hand right-hand combo intact Very interesting batting changes, these are for LSG.

Nicholas Pooran has fallen here too. It was a slower bumper from Starc, which Pooran tried to pull and got the inside edge onto the stumps. He was the inform batter for LSG. What that wicket does is it requires Mitchell Marsh to bat for a longer time and take the responsibility of an anchor. Also interesting today, LSG has promoted Abdul Samad up the order. While the left-hand and right-hand combination is understandable but with the way these wickets play, it might have been a better option to have Rishabh Pant up the order and let him unleash.

Aiden Markram has fallen here, and it is Chameera who got the wicket. The batter tried to squeeze one through the off-side but was caught by the point, who was placed exactly for that plan. Nicholas Pooran has walked into the middle he has been in top form is Pooran a cameo here will turn the tide of this game. One interesting thing from the Delhi perspective is that spinners have not been as effective as they were expected to be. While the red soil wicket does get a bit of bounce, the ball seems to be coming nicely onto the bat, and batters are enjoying it.

Aiden Markram has scored a half-century. This is his fourth this season. What a season this is turning out to be for both Mitchell Marsh and Aiden Markram, who hardly had any substantial IPL campaigns in the past. Very timely innings from Aiden Markram especially how the wickets here tend to play. While it is a good pitch today, Lucknow never rolls out one of those Hyderabad 250 wickets. From the platform they have Lucknow should be looking to get 180-200, which will be a good score. Will that be enough to win the game that will depend on the dew in the second innings.

Apart from Axar Patel, all the remaining bowlers have taken a bit of tapping here at the Ekana. Once again, it seems like one of those typical Ekana surfaces where the ball tends to get harder to hit as it gets softer. While LSG has gotten to a very good start here, they also need to make sure one of these two bats till the 18th over as Delhi does have some lethal spinners in their ranks who are yet to bowl. And that is where this game might start to change. Kuldeep Yadav has been phenomenal with the ball, while he has had good seasons last few years, this is the season the team is also playing well.

Good start for LSG. The wicket is playing a tad bit slowly here, but LSG too has played accordingly. Markram, especially, is looking in good touch. Seems like he is enjoying these surfaces, which do not have much seam movement early on and play a bit slowly. It tends to give him a bit of freedom and free license to bat against the new ball. Also, there have been times in the last few years playing for SRH and a few other franchises where he has batted in the middle order and has struggled to deal with spin, but this season he has enjoyed the pace on the ball.

Axar Patel has taken the new ball for Delhi Capitals here in the middle. With two right-handers in the middle, it is a good matchup to do so. While there is not much turn in that over but Axar did bowl a few arm balls, which did pose a few questions. Meanwhile, Mitchell Starc has taken the new ball from the other end. He did get a couple of balls to swing and pitched one short, which was hit for a six. Both Aiden Markram and Mitchell Marsh are in good form this tournament, and Delhi Capitals need to break this partnership, and if they get going, they can hurt the Capitals.

It is a red-soil wicket. We have seen a few high scores on this pitch in this ground. However, chasing does get a bit tricky on this ground despite the dew, and Delhi should restrict the LSG batting to a low score with the boundaries in this stadium, chasing can get quite tricky.

Definitely (would have bowled first). The way this wicket is playing, it stops a bit in the first innings and as the game goes on, it gets better and better. Hand is okay. (Things to keep in mind while batting first) It's going to be on the slower side, but gradually it gets better and better as you keep on batting. So not losing too many wickets, that's the only thing to keep in mind and just playing according to the situation. As a team, we don't think about what's happening around us. We are just focussing on where we can improve. We are playing with the same team.
