Learnt a lot from Sania Mirza, she has been a great support: Shoaib Malik

Shoaib Malik thanked wife Sania Mirza, he said he has learnt a lot from him during that period when he was sidelined.

Pakistan cricketer Shoaib Malik, who just announced retirement from Test cricket, said that he has learned a lot from his wife Sania Mirza in the five-year period during which he was sidelined form the national squad.

“Those five years, I have spent a lot of time with my wife. I have learnt a lot. Not just in sports, but in routine life as well. She has been a great support so far. I feel proud when she does well. I want to wish her to keep playing and make me proud,” Shoaib Malik was quoted by Zee News as saying.

Malik also revealed that he has no regret despite not featuring for Pakistan in Test cricket.

“I wanted to play all formats in those five years. I did play some matches in limited-overs cricket, but I didn’t play a single Test match in those five years. Of course disappointment is there. I have no regrets though,” said Malik.

Malik had a succesful return to Test cricket after he scored a double hundred against England at Abu Dhabi but failed to back that up with any substantial score. He then called the shots on his Test career at Sharjah in the third and final Test against England.
