Mumbai, the Ranji Trophy 2023-24 champion, will face the Rest of India (RoI) team in the Irani Cup 2024-25 match at the Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow.
The one-off contest will be played from October 1-5. While the match was originally slated to be held in Mumbai, persistent rains forced the BCCI to move the game out of the city.
Ajinkya Rahane will lead Mumbai while Ruturaj Gaikwad was announced captain of the RoI team on Tuesday.

– Dhruv Jurel and Yash Dayal’s participation is subject to them not being involved in the second Test against Bangladesh in Kanpur, starting September 27. Likewise, Sarfaraz Khan’s participation for Mumbai will also depend on the second Test.
