India vs Australia, 3rd Test: I was batting nicely, unfortunately just got out again, feels Shane Watson

Shane Watson was dropped on 37 and could have extended it to a bigger score.

Unable to convert his fifty into a hundred yet again, Australian all-rounder Shane Watson on Friday said it was very disappointing to miss out on a ton in the ongoing third cricket Test against India and he would try not to let it slip again.

“I got out again. I felt I was batting nicely and unfortunately I just got out again. It’s very disappointing,” Watson said on the ‘ABC’.

Watson was dismissed for 52 on the opening day of the match at MCG. Although the score ended a poor run of form but it was also a missed opportunity for the imposing all-rounder, who has 23 fifties but a mere four centuries.

“He’s a very good starter, now it’s important for him to go and get a big score,” said Michael Clarke, who was commentating on Channel Nine at the time.

Watson said he would not repeat the mistake again.

“It was just an instinctive shot. I’m trying not to think too much out there, apart from just taking on the bowlers,” Watson said.

“I just need to make sure I don’t do it next time.”
