Bangladesh script history as they beat India by three wickets to win their maiden U19 World Cup. The rain came and it turned the equation completely into Bangladesh's favour. With 7 to defend in 30 balls, India never had a chance and their opposition were well aware of this. Bangladesh skipper Akbar Ali and Parvez Emon were the difference as the skipper played an unbeaten knock of 43 from 77 balls. Emon, who walked off the pitch after being retired out in the 13th over, came back to rescue his side. His gritty 47 off 79 made the chase a lot more easier for the first time winners.

The revised target for Bangladesh is 170 in 46 overs. They need 7 runs in 30 balls.
Good news for India the rain has stopped and the covers are being removed. The action is likely to resume shortly. Can India fightback after this short interruption or will Bangladesh script history?
Just when the tension was escalating, it started pouring in Potchefstroom, leaving the contest hanging with Bangladesh batting on 163/7 after 41 overs. Bangladesh are currently 18 runs ahead as per the DLS equation.
A perfect delivery and the batsman had left it completely, however, it bounces on an odd surface and then goes over the keeper's head towards the boundary ropes. The bowler looks agonised, while the Bangladeshi supporters rejoice their rare moment of luck. BAN: 154/7 | need another 24

Leading India's fightback, Ravi Bishnoi completes his 10-overs quota, in which he bowled three crucial maiden overs. Apart from those three maidens, Bishnoi also scalped four wickets and conceded just 30 runs.
First with the bat and now with the ball. Yashasvi Jaiswal gets the big fish as Parvez Emon's superb innings finally comes to an end. A wide delivery turning away from the off stump and Emon plays it in the air. Connects it well but unfortunate as his shot lands straight into the hands of Akash Singh at covers. BAN: 143/7 | need 35 to win
Parvez Emon plays it late and fine as the ball bounces just wide of the slip fielder and races towards the boundary ropes in the third-man area. He seems to be in some sort of discomfort while rotating the strike but as long as the runs keep coming, Bangladesh or even Emon won't mind it. BAN: 141/6 (31 overs)
Parvez Hossain Emon maybe Bangladesh's final hope. The batsman who left the pitch retired hurt in the 13th over has returned to his team's rescue as he slams Akash Singh for a couple of boundaries in the 27th over. 13 runs come off it as Bangladesh edge closer to a famous win. BAN: 126/6
The equation seems to be in India's favour and a couple of wickets in the middle will guarantee that the Priyam Garg & co. will retain the world championship crown. Bangladesh are six down but the hopes are not lost yet as a partnership now can again turn the contest into their pockets.
Four! Another one for skipper Akbar who is batting very well. He sweeps Ankolekar who hasn't quite settled today. Akbar has 23 off 26 balls. Ban 107/6 after 24 overs
Avishek Das the man to go. What an over. Drop, four, drop and a wicket. Parvez Emon, who had retired hurt, is returning to the crease which is great to see. BAN- 102/6 after 23 overs
back-to-back boundaries for Bangladesh. Bishnoi overcompensates and drags it short outside off. Ali treks deep and plays a rasping cut past backward point. Pressure back on Bishnoi. BAN- 97/5 after 22 overs
Sushant Mishra was having a horrible time, with beamers, warning and what not. Priyam Garg brings him back on and he strikes on the first ball of a fresh spell. BAN 85/5 as Jaiswal takes a smart catch.
Sushant Mishra was having a horrible time, with beamers, warning and what not. Priyam Garg brings him back on and he strikes first ball of a fresh spell. BAN 85/5 as Jaiswal takes a a smart catch. Pressure on the Bangla Tigers
Ravi Bishnoi is on fire! Wrong 'un again, spins viciously back in and Hridoy is rooted to the crease. Misjudges it totally. He's got three wickets in 3.1 overs He has his tail up and is spinning a web around the Bangladeshi batsmen. BAN- 64/3 after 15 overs
Indian bowlers are bowling well now & quite aggressively. Bangladesh needs to get through this phase, won't be easy though. The match could well be decided in the next 7 to 8 overs.
The change in length does the trick for Bishnoi! He strikes with the wrong'un to remove Mahmudul Hasan Joy! Meanwhile, Left-hander Parvez Emon is walking back due to cramps that means two new batsmen at the crease for Bangladesh! BAN - 62/2 after 12.5 ovs

Just when India needed someone to step up, the man in form Ravi Bishnoi delivers, that too in his very first over. A flighted delivery and Tanzid Hasan, who had earlier smacked him for a six over the mid-wicket fence looks to repeat the same. However, this time he gets a leading edge and the ball balloons up in the air. Some work for Kartik Tyagi as he runs forward but makes no mistake in the end as Tanzid returns after scoring 17 off 25 balls. BAN: 50/1 (9 overs)
Yashasvi Jaiswal once again shines with the bat as his 121-ball 88 makes him the leading run-getter from the Indian camp. An amazing outing for the new Rajasthan Royals recruit as we take you through his stats.
The first bowling change by India as Akash Singh, left-arm fast medium, comes into the attack. He starts off with an excellent delivery pitched just outside the off stumps that tantalised Emon to play but he changes his mind at the end. A hint of swing as well but Bangladesh are in no hurry.
However, Akash pitches the fifth delivery slightly up, coming between the middle and leg stump, and Emon flicks it towards the deep mid-wicket region for a cracking four, but in the process also ends up damaging his bat. BAN: 33/0 (6 overs)
Sushant Mishra bowls a beamer and this is the second time he has done in his two overs so far. Umpire interrupts and gives him an official warning and he isn't surprised by it. However, in the fifth delivery of his second over, Sushant bowls a short delivery, which hits the grill of Tanzid's helmet and goes towards the third-man area. Physio out in the field just to check on the player but one thing is for sure, this guy has the potential to consistently bowl 140kph case deliveries. BAN: 27/0 (4 overs)
Parvez Hossain Emon also smashes his first boundary of the contest as a tidy over by Sushant Mishra comes to an end. A wide delivery pitched outside the off stumps, and Emon opens up his arms and whips the ball towards the mid-off area. BAN: 18/0 (2 overs)
Kartik Tyagi starts off with a wide and goes on to concede 13 runs in his first over. Tanzid Hasan slams the 18-year-old for two boundaries in the third and the sixth ball of the over. Sushant Mishra will bowl from the other end.
A herculean task in front of the Indian bowlers as 18-year-old Kartik Tyagi starts the attack. Facing him is left-handed batsman Parvez Hossain Emon, who along with his partner Tanzid Hasan will look to watch out the initial deliveries and build a solid platform for others to follow in the 178-run chase.
Sushant Mishra is gone for 3 and India have been bowled out for 177. This is the first time India have been bowled out in 13 innings. However, not all hope is last. Avishek Das gets this third of the day! Kartik Tyagi is out caught by Akbar Ali. Bangladesh are all over their opposition. Tyagi bags a 5-ball duck. India is having really bad day.
Bishnoi and Ankolekar look for a quick single, but Shoriful is on it in a flash to dismiss Bishnoi! How good have Bangladesh been today? For India this is pure Hara-kiri! Wickets falling like nine pins after the 40th over.
Disastrous running. Both Jurel and Ankolekar end up at the same end, and the umpires have to figure out who is actually out! Confusion as to who is out because both grounded the bat inside the crease at the same time. It's decided Jurel is out! IND-168/6 after 42.2 overs
Huge appeal for lbw and up goes the finger. Islam yells out a loud roar, the Bangladesh fans go crazy here. Two wickets in two balls, what a turnaround from Bangladesh!
Jaiswal has fallen 12 short of his century. Outstanding innings from Yashasvi Jaiswal. Held this Indian innings together in the face of an excellent performance from the Bangladesh bowlers. Will be an achievement now to get to 230
Yashasvi Jaiswal takes India past 150 with his 7th boundary. Good use of the bottom hand from Jaiswal, who's the primary source of runs for India at the moment. IND- 151/3 after 39 overs
Support from New Zealand!

Soft dismissal for India's captain Priyam Garg, who chips it straight to extra cover off Rakibul. It did seem like the ball stopped slightly after pitching. Something for the Indian spinners to look forward to. IND - 114/3 after 31.3 overs
Tilak Varma is dismissed by Tanzim Hasan Sakib. It was cut on the up and the fielder (Shoriful Islam) at sweeper cover takes a good catch. Islam is one of the tallest fielders in the Bangladesh unit and doesn't miss this chance. Priyam Garg is the next man in. Tough going for India on a slow pitch. Will need a big flourish to get to 240-250 from here which would be tough to chase. IND- 103/2 after 29 overs
Yashasvi Jaiswal in U19 WC 2020: Fifth fifty in six games for Jaiswal in the World Cup. The only game he didn't get a fifty, it was because India were chasing only 42 (v Japan)

Shamim Hossain is welcomed into his new spell with a boundary. Fired down leg, poor bowling and Varma sweeps fine despite overbalancing, gets it fine enough to beat short fine leg. India continue to motor along!
Yashasvi Jaiswal has increased his strike rate after facing 10s of dot balls in the initial part of his innings. Meanwhile, right-arm off-spinner Towhid Hridoy is trying to put some pressure on Jaiswal. IND - 74/1 after 24 overs
Bangladesh bowlers are trying to rile up Yashasvi Jaiswal but the youngster has seen enough bad-mouthers during his struggle to take them seriously. Shoriful Islam had a few words for Jaiswal on his follow-through. The Indian opener just moves aside and laughs it off. He is batting on 38 runs from 65 deliveries. IND - 66/1 after 21 overs
Rokibul Hasan and Shoriful Islam turn back the tide into Bangladesh's favour with some economic bowling against the two settled Indian batsmen. They concede just six runs from their three overs. IND are 63/1 after 17 overs.
Yashasvi Jaiswal is slowly looking unstoppable here, as he smacks Shamim Hossain left and right with two excellent boundaries. He is showing why is the lynchpin of this young Indian side, and in the process brings up the fifty for India. 11 runs from the over. IND are 57/1 after 17 overs.
Last eight balls, eight singles. Six runs from the over of Shamim Hossain. Both the Indian batsmen are slowly getting settled here and growing in confidence. While Yashasvi Jaiswal is on 27*, Tilak Varma is on 9*. IND are 44/1 after 15 overs.
Amidst a lot of ones and twos, Yashasvi Jaiswal (23*) again perfected his timing to punish Avishek Das to the right of mid-off. Tilak Varma (5*) is supporting him looking to form a partnership. 13 runs from the last three overs. IND are 36/1 after 13 overs.
"The timing is wonderful, simply superb," says Ian Bishop. And it was from Yashasvi Jaiswal as he hit Avishek Das for a boundary. And right after that, he shows his patience in the next over as India get only two runs from that. IND are 23/1 after 10 overs.
Tilak Varma had an awkward fall on his knee, and he looks to be in serious pain now. With the Indian physio on, strapping is being done and Tilak is seen limping a bit. Guess he will be alright, contrary to initial beliefs. He is on 1* from 5 balls now.
And we have the first boundary of the innings here! Facing Tanzim Hasan Sakib, Yashasvi Jaiswal powers the pull wide of mid-wicket. But in the next over itself, Tilak Varma injures himself while running between the wickets. IND are 16/1 after 8.3 overs.
Avishek Das gets the breakthrough, and it's completely deserved for Bangladesh! Divyansh Saxena walks back to the pavilion for 2. Mahmudul Hasan Joy with the catch to dismiss the opener. Tilak Varma is on. IND are 9/1 after 6.4 overs.
Both India and Bangladesh are on nine-match winning streaks, and the way it has started here, it looks like quite a tough contest here with Bangladesh having the upper-hand with their excellent seam bowling. IND are 7/0 after 5 overs.
After two consecutive maiden overs from Shoriful Islam and Tanzim Hasan Sakib, Yashasvi Jaiswal opens the account for India on the fourteenth ball of the innings with a single. Four runs off the over. IND are 4/0 after 3 overs.
Yashasvi Jaiswal is out to open with his partner Diyansh Saxena. Meanwhile, Bangladesh's Shoriful Islam starts the final with a delivery against Jaiswal. Bowling at full length, Shoriful starts with a maiden. IND are 0/0 after the first over.
Akbar Ali: We are going to bowl first. There was rain last night, we are playing three seamers and we believe there is something in this wicket, hope we can exploit the conditions. We have made one change.
Priyam Garg: Yeah, I am confident. We have good middle-order batsmen and are confident too. No changes.
