Campbell hit again! Struck flush on the helmet. Wood enquires if he is fine after that blow. Physios come out to check on him. A concussion test is mandatory after a blow to the head these days. Campbell looks fine to continue, pumps fists with his skipper. 

Stokes giving it all he has got. England giving it all they have got in this final passage of play. Holder and Campbell look to hang in there, not do anything silly. They are within reach now, they do not want to expose their tail to this barrage with 10 more to get. Holder calls for two with a flick on the leg side. Campbell hobbles. But hobbles well enough to get back for two. West Indies are being stretched but they are getting there brick by brick. Stokes has face dug in hands again.Campbell, in obvious pain, is hanging in. Stokes bowls to Holder. Never before have the captains of two sides dismissed each other on all four occasions in a match. A mix-up between Holder and Blackwood but tbhey make it in time. What is concerning for West Indies is that there is not much batting to come after this partnership. Campbell reportedly has a bleeding toe. Apart from him, there are only Roach, Gabriel and Alzarri to come. Holder and Blackwood need to hold firm. West Indies are in control, but this Test could slip out easily. Blackwood upper cuts again. Well controlled though. Guides it to third man for a single to get Holder on strike. Important moment for West Indies, this. They need to ensure they do not let the Dowrich wicket lead to a deluge. Archer is also brought back into the attack. Holder comes in. Captain vs captain. Holder got Stokes twice in this match, Stokes got him once. Can he do it again and throw the chase wide open just as it looked WI had it under control? Stokes brings himself on. He has produced magic so many times in the recent past for England, can he stand up and deliver another in this moment of need? Dowrich tries to go after him, trying to release some of the pressure Archer put him under. Does not get the right connection. And he falls! Tries an attacking shot too many. Gets and edge and the catch is taken at slip. But another anti-climax! Replays show Stokes bowled a no ball. Dowrich survives. 

Dowrich gets into a tangle as Archer fires it in at him. Falls on his back in the over, lucky to not fall on to his stumps. Archer is keeping the batsmen hopping. Dowrich doing his best to survive. England review against Dowrich now. England lose the review. The ball had brushed his waist, no bat on that. West Indies march on. WI 164/4, need 36 to win

Blackwood gets another four off Wood. Firmly hit between the fielders on the off side. This is the highest individual score in this Test now. Wood gets one to climb on to Blackwood, he fends it away well. What character Blackwood has shown in this innings! Gets another 4 runs with a lofted drive, gets to 80, and this is now his highest score in 5 years. West Indies needed a saviour after Archer had ripped through their top order in the morning, they have found one in Blackwood. WI 162/4, need 38 more to win

Archer continues in full throttle but Blackwood has the last laugh. 50 partnership between him and Dowrich comes up with an exquisite cover drive for four. Blackwood moves to 71*. Less than 50 left to win now. West Indies can smell victory. Blackwood can smell the leather as Archer digs another one in at him. WI 154/4, need 46 more to win

Good pace from Wood as well. The batsmen are giving Wood and Archer a lot of respect at the beginning of the session. Blackwood shows the first sign of disrespect and late in-swing almost makes him regret that. An lbw shout against him. England review. They will go for everything now. James Anderson to bowl what will probably be the last over before Tea. Dowrich stands firm in that over. Runs keep coming on either side with pushes and prods. West Indies move resuloutely on. Tea is signalled. West Indies go in at 143/4, needing 57 runs to win the 1st Test in the final session.

Change of bats for Blackwood, who had a broken bat. Lots of damage on his bat from Archer today. Blackwood himself has inflicted a lot of damage on the other England bowlers though. WI 139/4, need 61 more to win

Blackwood, who might have been sitting this Test out had Darren Bravo and Shimron Hetmyer been available for selection, is the one leading this 4th innings chase. Anderson has ramped up his pace a bit too, bowling in the higher 80s (mph) now. Blackwood, in total control now, drives him back over mid off for four. None of the other English bowlers have come close to having an impact like Archer in this innings. WI 138/4, need 62 more to win

Wood comes on. That's the end of that Archer spell then. The batsmen will heave a sigh of relief at that. Wood, replacing him, also keeps his length short. Not directed with as much control though, Blackwood can sway out of the way easily enough. Blackwood upper cuts again, one of the shots he has played without fear in this innings. England are losing a bit of their energy on the field again as the batsmen find it easy to navigate the Wood over. WI 134/4, need 66 more to win

James Anderson brought into the attack in Bess's place for one spell before the imminent end of the session. And there is an edge running away for four. Blackwood gets to his 50 with that. His 11th Test 50, one of his most important ones, his first since August 2017. Blackwood attacks Anderson later in the over. Punches a four on the leg side. WI 128/4, need 72 more to win

'The West Indian on the other side is doing well,' says Holding. Blackwood, on 47, is kept hopping on his toes by Archer. Dowrich is given out off Archer! Another venomous bouncer resulting in a wicket? Dowrich refers quickly. Where did that strike him? On the elbow, the DRS shows. Dowrich survives. Four out of six deliveries in every Archer over is a venomous bouncer at the moment. Blackwood plays an unseemly upper cut to get off strike. Getting off strike is the best strategy against Archer in this sort of a mood. The last ball of the over brings a boundary for Dowrich with a flick. WI 120/4, need 80 more to win

Blackwood plays a glorious drive to restore some confidence to the Windies side. He has moved on to 46*. Stokes gives Archer another close catcher as he senses an opportunity to regain control. Archer's figures now 3/29, and he had also accounted for Campbell retiring hurt. Blackwood goes for the upper cut as Jofra pitches it into him again. Misses. Gets some words said to him from Archer. Tense moments in the chase. Archer digs it into Blackwood again, Blackwood takes a tumble. Test cricket at its finest! WI 109/4, 91 more to win

Dowrich comes out at 7. Still no John Campbell, the retired hurt batsman. What a ball that was from Archer to get England back into the game that was!

Archer strikes! He makes the impact England were praying for. Another venomous bouncer digged into Chase. Chase edges and it is an easy catch for the keeper. England have their first reason to smile in the session. West Indies lose Chase after a brave stand between him and Blackwood. Will this tilt the balance again? WI 100/4

Bess had troubled Blackwood enormously earlier in the day. He is being less effective in his second spell. A single moves West Indies along to the halfway point in the chase. 100/3, another 100 runs to win.

Dom Bess, who got decent turn earlier today, is thrown the ball as play restarts. Archer continues from the other end. Blackwood has a FC average of 33. He has moved on to 38. Big innings from him given the circumstances. WI 98/3, need 102 more to win

Blackwood attacks a short ball from Archer. An upper cut for four! Archer keeps pounding them in short. WI reach 95/3 at the hour-mark, 105 more to win as a drinks break is taken. England need an inspiration.

Another chance missed! Ball flies to Burns but he cannot get hands to it because of how fast it was coming at him. Three chances have been missed by England in the last 15 minutes or so. First Buttler, then Crawley, now Burns. Is this the passage of play they will look back on and regret later? Stokes has his head in hands as that chance goes begging. WI 90/3, 110 more to win

Stout defence from Chase as Archer keeps pitching it into him. Big Miss! Run out chance! Crawley, the 21-year-old fumbles in collecting the ball and England throw another huge chance away! Batsmen keep pushing the tempo. Singles being converted into doubles. The England fielders being put under pressure after Lunch. Stokes and Archer are firing them in, West Indies batsmen not falling into the trap. They are giving the good balls respect and finding the gaps whenever they get the loose balls. Archer comes into the attack. He put a big dent into the batting order in the morning. Can he follow up with another blistering spell? 50 partnership comes up between Chase and Blackwood. Archer serves up some hostile bouncers straightaway. WI 78/3, 122 more to win

Runs keep coming for the pair as Stokes and Anderson continue without much impact. Replays show Buttler dropped a catch earlier in the over. The ball had brushed the gloves as it had gone past the batsman and Buttler did not hold on to the catch. Blackwood, meanwhile, has gone down in the field in discomfort. West Indies have won a Test on English soil only once since the turn of the century - on the 2017 tour. Shai Hope had been the hero for West Indies in that match. Three years later, they are close to another. Chase and Blackwood are taking them close to a position from which they can strike in the last session. Still, all three outcomes possible in this Test. Ben Stokes brings himself on to bowl for the first time in the 25th over. Can he land a key blow? England are losing sight of this Test a bit at the moment, they need another inspirational moment to wrest back the momentum. WI 68/3

Bess is getting a decent amount of turn on this Day 5 pitch. Blackwood is getting all cramped up against the spinner. Blackwood survives narrowly off the last ball! He gets an edge, Stokes, at slip, anticipates the shot and moves to his right, the shot was not good enough and it goes to Stokes's right and he cannot catch that. More runs in Wood's next over as well. Wood gets late movement to go past Blackwood's bat. Goes past Chase's bat narrowly as well later in the over. WI 42/3, 158 to win

Bess bowls from the other end. Stokes holds himself back for now. Atherton says Bess is a good bowler to have because Blackwood is on strike. On cue, there are lbw shouts against Blackwood. Still, 38/3

Wood starts proceedings after Lunch. Blackwood gets hit on the waist first ball, and there are half-hearted shouts already. Blackwood flicks on the leg side to bring the first runs after the break. Wood again strays with his line and Chase gets going as well. WI 38/3

West Indies need 165 to win. England need 7 wickets. 73 overs still scheduled for the day. So not much chance that this shall peter into a draw. Who will show the bigger hunger? Who will come up with the bigger hearts? 5 wickets fell in what was a highly eventful morning session. What is in store in the next one?

West Indies aare effectively 4 down at the moment with John Campbell having hobbled off after getting hit on the toe by an Archer yorker. Looks highly likely at the moment that his services will be required at some point in the day.

The morning session is over. West Indies have scored 35/3 in 15 overs. Chase and Blackwood the men in the middle. Archer and Wood have sizzled in this morning session. Can the West Indies middle order fight back in the two sessions that remain? They need 165 more to win.

West Indies have never lost a Test chasing 200 in the fourth innings. That could change today if the morning shows the day on Day 5. However, the one thing West Indies have improved on in recent years - and this is possibly the only aspect of their game they have improved in the last 30 years - they bat deep these days.
