British media putting undue pressure on Mohammad Amir, says Shahid Afridi

Former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi has backed Mohamamd Amir to deliver in the upcoming Test series between Pakistan and England, and slammed the British media for “putting undue pressure” on the seamer.

In the last week, former England players, in interviews and columns to the British media, have questioned Amir’s return. Most hard-hitting statements have come from Kevin Pietersen and Graeme Swann.

Both former England cricketers feel the left-armer doesn’t deserve a second chance and his acts were done for greed. Reacting to all the hype around Amir’s return to Lord’s – the venue where the spot-fixing incident took place – Amir has urged Amir to stay strong.
