NCP, Congress, BJP, Shiv Sena break free in Maharashtra: Who said what

Everyone these days seems to be thinking about their own selves. Let me think about Maharashtra: Raj Thackeray.

Here are some of the important statements made by the political leaders in the wake of Assembly Polls in Maharashtra.

“The Shiv Sena kept revolving around the chief ministerial post. For the BJP, getting rid of  the existing, scam-ridden government was the priority and not the CM’s post” – Eknath Khadse

“We told them seven seats for the smaller parties is not acceptable. Munde sahib brought these parties into the alliance based on trust. Their stand was that we have decided this, tell us if you want to adjust”  – Devendra Fadnavis

“The Shiv Sena is out of the alliance… The smaller parties led by the BJP will jointly fight the elections. But we would still like to call it a mahayuti” – Raju Shetti

“Despite repeated negotiations, the NCP leadership remained firm on their demand for 144 seats. We even offered to increase 10 seats but NCP leadership stuck to 144” – Manikrao Thakre

“The NCP’s only objective was  to get the CM’s portfolio. Personal ambitions were given precedence over the benefit of the state” – Prithviraj Chavan

“A month and a half ago, senior leaders from both parties met and decided to contest with the Congress only if there was an equal share in the seats. No member from the Congress sat and discussed the details in the last three or four weeks.” – Praful Patel
