‘Modi will campaign in Bihar Assembly polls if needed’

'Gujarat CM Narendra Modi would visit Bihar to campaign for BJP candidates during the Assembly polls if his services were required, says senior party leader Kalraj Mishra.

Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi would visit Bihar to campaign for BJP candidates during the Assembly polls if his services were required, senior party leader Kalraj Mishra said on Sunday.

“If needed,be it Modi or any other top BJP leader,he will be asked to campaign for BJP candidates during the Bihar polls later this year,” he told reporters to a query on the Gujarat Chief Minister’s visit to the state for electioneering.

Mishra cited the Centre’s appreciation of the BJP governments’ performance in Gujarat,Karnataka and Madhya Pradesh towards the welfare of the minorities to drive home his party’s secular credentials.

The BJP leader, who was here to prepare the groundwork for the polls, said NDA’s second-term in power will make Bihar a developed state in the next five years.

The Nitish Kumar-led NDA government has performed creditably on all fronts despite the “step motherly” treatment meted out by the Centre which neither granted a special status to it nor extended full support to tackle drought and flood situations,Mishra claimed.
