Twenty two-year-old Rahul Arvind Jadhav committed suicide by jumping from the eighth floor of Deenanath Mangeshkar hospital at Erandwane on Tuesday.
Dhananjay Kelkar, director of the hospital said that Jadhav was not undergoing any treatment at the hospital.
A resident of Meenatai Thackeray Nagar, Jadhav was a third year engineering student of Sinhagad College. “Rahul was an intelligent student and a good sportsman. But, for the past two years he was mentally unwell and also suffered from some disease,” said Rahul’s uncle Suresh Jadhav.
The body was sent to Sassoon Hospital for postmortem first and then handed over to his parents. The Kothrud police have filed a case of accidental death.
