In a first,BJP legislator Jugal Kishore from Nagrota Assembly constituency was on Tuesday suspended from J&K Assembly for rest of the Budget session for attempting to assault a woman minister during Question Hour.

Incidentally,Kishore is the BJP’s new state president.

He was angered when Social Welfare Minister Sakina Itoo asked BJP and Panthers Party MLAs — agitated over government’s reply on construction of flyovers in Jammu — to walk out so that House could function normally. He tried to reach Itoo’s table but was eventually evicted.

The Speaker, following approval from the House, suspended Kishore for rest of the session.
