Kareena took special leave from the shooting of Karan Johar’s Short Term Shaadi to attend the birthday party.

Wedding bells
Lara Dutta had a registered wedding in Mumbai before flying to Goa with her husband,tennis star Mahesh Bhupati for a star-studded sangeet ceremony at Club Fresh at Goa’s Candolim Beach followed by a Victorian church wedding on February 19.

For the wedding,Lara wore a Ritu Kumar-designed cream colour red saree and Bhupati was in a suit. The sangeet ceremony saw the bride in a Manav Gangwani-designed marigold and net lehenga while the groom was in a chikankari churidar- kurta.

Special Valentine’s Day
Vivek Oberoi and his wife Priyanka spent a romantic Valentine’s Day at Kovalam beach in Kerala. Earlier in the day,the duo reached Thiruvananthapuram and attended the premiere of a film titled Given A Chance made by a group of underprivileged girls. They also visited the Padmanabha Swamy temple.

Show cancelled
The much-awaited Bryan Adams show in Delhi on February 20 was cancelled. The organisers cited logistical issues. The singer,however,performed in Kathmandu the previous day and in London on February 21. Adams will return to India later some time this year to fulfill his commitment. People who have purchased the tickets online and through retail outlets were refunded.

Sad demise
Choreographer Saroj Khan’s 42-year-old daughter Cuckoo passed away recently. She was admitted to Lilavati Hospital because of the liver failure,multi-organ failure and septicaemia. Singers Daler Mehndi and Mika Singh too lost their father,Ajmer Singh Chandan,recently. He was ailing for some time and was admitted to a Delhi hospital where he passed away due to multiple organ failure. Ajmer Singh was a trained classical musician himself,who sang devotional music in the revered Patna Sahib Gurudwara.
