An audio-tape of a Punjabi immigrant shooting his two stepsons and nearly beheading his wife on Fathers Day last year was played in a Canadian court in Vancouver.
Mommy,mommy, 15-year-old Ranjit cried for help,before he was shot dead by Mahendra Singh. His 17-year-old brother Amarjit met similar fate. The incident happened on Fathers day June 21,2009.
The tape that captures the sound of the murders and a near-beheading was played on Friday at Singhs sentencing hearing in New Westminster Supreme Court in Vancouver.
The recording was so disturbing that some people left the courtroom. The tape starts 46 minutes before the murders,when Singh,68,was laying out grievances against his wife as reported by a newsdaily The Vancouver Sun.
This lady,she gave me such a hard time,a hard time, Singh said in English as the recording began,the paper reported. He pleaded guilty in June to two counts of second-degree murder of the boys and one of attempted murder for brutally beating Sukhwinder and slashing her throat.
