Buddha vehicle hit,CPM seeks tighter security

The CPM slammed the state government for the alleged breach of security of former CM Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee at Park Circus in Kolkata.

The CPM on Tuesday slammed the state government for the alleged breach of security of former CM Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee at Park Circus in Kolkata on Monday. When Bhattacharjee was on his way to party state headquarters at Alimuddin Street,an Ambassador car hit his bulletproof car from behind and sped away. Bhattacharjee,entitled to Z-Plus security cover,escaped unhurt. The car could not be traced. A complaint has been lodged at Beniapukur police station.

“…Government must make tight security arrangements for Buddhadebbabu who is under threat from extremist organisations,’’ Rabin Dev,CPM state secretariat member,said.
