SRINAGAR, APRIL 9: Two BSF personnel were among eight people killed in Jammu and Kashmir where security forces seized a huge cache of arms and ammunition, including RDX, since last evening.
A BSF inspector, a militant and a villager were killed in an exchange of firing between militants and security personnel who laid a cordon around village Seer in Pulwama district to flush out hiding militants, an official spokesman said here today.
Three civilians, including a woman, were injured and a house completely damaged in the heavy firing which was on till the last reports came in.
In an exchange of firing in Kamrot-Kotranka area of Rajouri, a BSF head constable and two militants were killed, while security forces gunned down two militants in an encounter in Akhnoor sector of Jammu region.
Security personnel busted a militant hideout near Kunda village of Rajouri district and seized four grenade launchers, seven rifle grenades, four rockets and 250 gms of RDX, an official spokesman said in Jammu.
Earlier, BSF smashed four militant hideouts on the foothills of Pir Kaleva ridge in the district and seized a truck-load of explosives and weapons, including three ballistic missiles.
In another operation, police and Army personnel raided Harkat-ul-Mujahideen hideouts in Darhal area of Poonch district and made huge recoveries of arms and explosives.
