CHANDIGARH, Aug 22: Three activists of the Students’ Organisation of Punjab University (SOPU) have threatened to begin an indefinite hunger strike from Monday in pursuance of their demands.It has been demanding provisional promotion of science students admitted during the session 1998-99. And promotion of Microbiology students, who were allowed to take the exams though short of lectures. M.Ed admissions n THE Panjab University has declared the results of the B.Ed entrance test conducted on July 24.

In a press release, Principal, Government College of Education, has stated that all candidates who have qualified the entrance test for the M.Ed course 1999-2000 conducted by Panjab University, should approach the college for interview with original documents at 9 am on August 25.

Sanskrit Day on Aug 24
Sanskrit Day will be celebrated on August 24 at the Panjab University English Auditorium by the Department of Sanskrit, according to a press release issued by the chairman, Dr Shankarji Jha. The programme will include honouring of Dr Sansar Chand, lectures and contests.
