NEW DELHI, JAN 13: While two of the accused in the BMW killing case, Sidharth Gupta and Manik Kapoor, were granted bail today, Sanjeev Nanda, who was allegedly driving the car that killed five people at Lodhi Road on Sunday morning, was remanded to judicial custody till January 16.

Metropolitan Magistrate V K Sharma fixed January 16 for hearing the arguments on the bail application of Nanda. Three others who had allegedly helped Sanjeev Nanda, the grandson of former Chief of Naval Staff, Admiral S M Nanda, hide the battered and blood-stained car in a posh Golf Links house were granted bail yesterday. They are Siddharth’s father Rajeev Gupta, domestic help Bhola Nath and Shyam Singh Rana, who had washed the car.

Sidharth Gupta and Manik Kapoor were granted bail on a bond of Rs 30,000 each and two sureties of the same amount. Kapoor’s bail bond and surety were not furnished today and he was taken to Tihar Jail along with Sanjeev Nanda. He is expected to be released tomorrow.
