It’s confirmed now. The medical test conducted on actor Salman Khan, who allegedly rammed his car into a bakery, killing one person and injuring four others, has ‘‘revealed traces of alcohol beyond permissible limits in his blood’’, Joint Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) Javed Ahmed said today. The test was taken 13 hours after the accident and four hours after his arrest.

However, Ahmed refused to disclose the exact percentage of the alcohol detected in the blood.

Cops were awaiting the results of the medical report before deciding whether to charge him under Section 185 of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988, which provides for a sixth-month jail term or a Rs 2,000 fine or both if the accused is found to have had 30 mgs of alcohol per 100 mls of blood in the system while driving.

“When we find something in the investigation, we shall move court,’’ Ahmed said, refusing to clarify if Khan will be arrested again.
