Actress Roja, the TDP candidate for Nagari Assembly constituency, who had to face violent protests on Wednesday when she filed her nomination papers, said today that she would not run scared from the filed.
Roja, who has acted in scores of Tamil and Telugu films, blamed the Congress for the violence near the office of Nagari Mandal revenue oficers. Admitting that there were some TDP dissidents among the protestors, she said the majority of them were Congressmen.
’’Those who have been in politics for quite some time are apprehensive about new comers like me,’’she said, when asked about the reasons behind the protests. ’’But I will not run away from the field. If I feel scared at this stage itself, how can I do anything for the people. Those who think that they can scare a woman into leaving the field will be terribly disappointed,’’ she said.
