Raymond Davis arrested in Colorado over parking spot fight

Davis was earlier arrested in Pakistan for shooting down two people in Lahore in January.

CIA contractor Raymond Davis, whose arrest in Pakistan for shooting down two people early this year had strained US-Pak ties, was arrested in Colorado after he allegedly fought with another man over a parking spot, even hitting him over the dispute.

Davis, whose arrest had sparked diplomatic tensions between the US and Pakistan, was released after paying a blood money of USD 2.3 million to the families of the victims, whom he shot dead on a road in Lahore in January.

Falling in trouble yet again, the CIA contractor allegedly entered into an argument and fight over a parking spot outside a shopping mall in suburban Denver,Colorado,on Saturday, police authorities said.

He was arrested and released later in the day after he posted a bond of USD 1750,local police authorities said.

Notably Davis had spent some seven weeks in a Lahore jail early this year after he was arrested. He was released only after much of tension between the US and Pakistan and the paying of blood money.

In his latest report to the Congress,US President Barack Obama said that the decline in US-Pak relationship started with the arrest of Davis in Pakistan.

Lt Glenn Peitzmeier, spokesperson of Douglas county Sheriff’s Office said the verbal argument turned physical, while describing the latest incident.
