Rahul Gandhi on Saturday accompanied student representatives from Aligarh Muslim University (AMU),Banaras Hindu University (BHU) and Allahabad University (AU) as they took their case for student unions in their varsities to Union HRD Minister Kapil Sibal.
Student elections and unions have been suspended in all three universities for a while,leading to unrest. Sibal reportedly assured the students that their concerns will be addressed,and that the ministry would talk to the respective administrations.
