CHANDIGARH, June 1: Two city residents, Pawan Kumar and Gurmeet Singh, accused of getting a credit card made after furnishing fictitious names and addresses, were remanded to police custody till tomorrow by UT Judicial Magistrate (Ist Class) A.K. Bishnoi, here today.

Third accused in the same case Bhupinder Singh was also remanded to police custody till June 3. The trio were booked by the Chandigarh Police under Sections 419, 420, 467, 468 and 471 of the IPC.

According to the prosecution, purchases worth Rs 12 lakh had been made by the accused by using the card. The same had been prepared in connivance with former and current officials of the credit card organisation, the prosecution had added. Meanwhile, today, seeking police remand, Assistant District Attorney Vinay Jhingan contended that the accused were required for further interrogation. Moreover, some of the money had been recovered from their possession.
