KHARAR, Oct 17: Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Patiala, bagged title in volleyball event in senior girls section in the Chandigarh Region, Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, sports meet held recently at Sandhuan, near here. In a two-day meet competitions were held in kho-kho and kabaddi in the junior section and basketball and volleyball in the senior section.
Apart from Chandigarh, other participating schools includes Amritsar, Bathinda, Jalandhar, Kapurthala and Patiala.
Kulbir Singh Sidhu, Deputy Commissioner, Roopnagar gave away the prizes to the participants.
Women soccer
YPS Club (Blue) will clash with Guru Teg Bahadur School-15, in the opening match of the first Chandigarh State women football championship for Deepak Kapania Memorial Trophy which will commence here from tomorrow at the Sector 17 Football Stadium. The tournament will begin at 10.30 a.m.
According to a press release, more than ten teams are taking part in the meet.
Taekwondo meet
The Open Chandigarh State taekwondo championship for colour belts will he organised on October 23 and 24 at Sector 10 Skating Rink. Entries close on October 22, with Sukhjeevan Sharma, HNo 3110, Sector 41-D.
Ball badminton camp
Ball badminton coaching camp in boys and girls section will be held at Shivalik Public School in Sector 41, from October 31. The players should reach the venue at 4 p.m.

Girls: Monika Panjla, Amandeep Kaur, Shivani Ojha, Rajinder Kaur, Sunita, Ekta, Anisha Bhatti, Shweta Vyas, Heena, Sonika, Monika Dhiman, Roopdeep, Sonia, Deepika, Vani, Shikha, Paramjit and Shaffali.
During the camp teams will be selected for the forthcoming North Zone and National ball badmionton meets.
