CHANDIGARH, OCT 11: SD Government College, Ludhiana gave excellent performance to win men’s title in the Panjab University Inter-College championship at the PU Campus today. DAV College, Chandigarh and SD College, Sector 32 were second and third, respectively.

In the women’s group, MCM DAV College bagged first position.

Results: Men: SD, Ludhiana bt DAV, Chandigarh 3-1 (Abhishek lost to Deepak Sidhu 1-15, 0-15; Amandeep bt Gurdev Singh 15-5, 15-10; Amandeep and Touseef bt Gurdev Singh and Gursev Singh 15-4, 15-12; Touseef bt Varun 15-5, 15-12). SD-32 bt DM College, Moga 3-0 (Ashish bt Vikas Bansal 15-5, 15-4; Lalit Sharma bt Neeraj Garg 15-4, 15-4; Ashish and Lalit Sharma bt Lakhbir and Amarjot 15-3, 15-5).

Women: MCM DAV-36 bt GC-11 2-0 (Preetika bt Nirmal Kaur 11-5, 11-5; Preetika and Samritika bt Nirmal and Amanpreet 15-6, 15-7). PU Campus bt GCW, Ludhiana 2-0 (Bhawna bt Harsimrat Kaur 11-5, 11-2; Bhawna and Nidhi bt Harsimrat and Harneet 15-8, 15-1).

Bhupinder excels
An all-round performance by Bhupinder Singh (32 not out and 2 for 16) enabled Fitwell Cricket Club beat Green Field XI in the first Fitwell cricket tournament today.
