AMBALA, January 9: Shivani Singla, a lecturer in the department of Computer Science and Application, S. A. Jain College, Ambala city where her father is working as the principal, has filed a suit against the college management in the court of civil judge here challenging the termination orders issued by the managing committee of the college.
The lecturer who was selected by the duly constituted selection committee excluding the principal C. L. Singla, her father, and was offered the job on July 27, 1997 as a lecturer in the said department.
The applicant alleged that all of a sudden the college authorities issued orders on September 27 last year, directing the secretary to relieve her and terminate her services.
There was no complaint or inquiry against her work and her conduct. She further alleged that she had been removed from the services since her father, principal of the college, refused to yield to the pressure of the managing committee in day-to-day administration and did not cater to their whimsand fancies.
The action of the committee, she further alleged, was aimed at tarnishing her career by terminating her services without assigning any reason and that too in a college of which her father was the principal.
Seeking the revocation of the termination orders, and withdrawal of the show cause notice issued to her, Shivani said that the managing committee’s action was biased and in violation of the provisions of the Haryana Affiliated Colleges (security of service) Act.
